Backlink statuses: Pending, Live, Removed, Changed, Doesn't match
Published 1 min read
Swappsy opens every linking page once a day and gives each link one of these statuses. Use the filters at the top of Backlinks to see each group.
Pending
The link hasn't been found on the page yet: it was just added, or the partner hasn't placed it. Swappsy keeps looking every day.
Live
The link is on the page, pointing to your Target URL.
Removed
The link was live but is gone: it's no longer on the page, or the page returns 404 or 410. To avoid false alarms, a link is marked Removed only after two checks in a row miss it. A page that times out or doesn't load doesn't count. You get an alert, and you can message the partner straight from the warning box.
Changed
The link is still there, but something changed since the last check: its rel (for example do-follow became no-follow), its anchor text, or a noindex tag was added to the page. Open the link and click Mark as reviewed once you've dealt with it; the new values become the baseline.
Doesn't match
The link is live, but it isn't the Type that was agreed. For example, you agreed a Do-follow link and the page has a no-follow one. You can find these under the Changed filter. Ask the partner to fix the rel, or change the agreed Type if that's what you actually agreed.
Ending soon
The link's term ends within 30 days, or has ended. See Terms, renewals and reminders.
Alerts
When a link is removed, comes back, changes or stops matching its Type, you get a notification and an email. Turn the email off under Link alerts in Settings. For links in a deal, both partners are told.
