Terms, renewals and reminders
Published 1 min read
Many paid links last a year, and some exchanges are agreed for a set time. Swappsy keeps the end date and reminds you before it comes.
Links you added yourself
- Open the link in Backlinks and click Set a term.
- Pick the date it went live and the term: Permanent, 3, 6, 12 or 24 months, or an end date.
- Optionally add the renewal price and its currency.
When the term comes up, click Email the partner about renewing (add their email on the link first) to write to them from your own mail app with the details filled in. Once renewed, click Mark as renewed: the new term counts from the old end date, so the yearly cycle stays the same, and you can save the payment as an invoice in the same step.
Exchanges
Either partner can set a term on the deal page (3, 6, 12 or 24 months). It counts from the day the deal completes, and the other partner is told. Near the end, either side can ask to renew; the other agrees or declines. With no term, both links stay up for good.
Marketplace placements
6- and 12-month placements can be renewed from 30 days before their term ends until 60 days after. Click Renew on the order: a renewal order is created for the same page at the seller's renewal price (or the original price). Once you pay the seller and they confirm the payment, Swappsy checks the page itself and keeps watching it for the new term, counted from the old end date. Lifetime placements are watched for 12 months; after that the link stays in your Backlinks.
Reminders
Swappsy reminds you 30 days and 7 days before a term ends, and on the day it ends. The Ending soon filter in Backlinks lists them all. Turn the emails off under Renewals in Settings.
